The Cedar Hill Action Team (CHAT) is an initiative formed by service-hearted citizens of Cedar Hill, Texas and its surrounding communities.
We are partnering with city, local businesses, local service organizations, and national organizations to provide for those in need within the City of Cedar Hill.
We are excited to be have the guidance and support from the PYA of Dallas along with the support of great organizations such as Boys and Girls Club of America, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Cedar Hill Rotary Club, and the Pheonix House in bringing an After School program to Cedar Hill.
The Promising Youth Alliance (PYA)
The board of directors of Promising Youth Alliance (PYA) recently announced the formation of this collaborative enterprise among three of the nation’s most successful providers of youth development services: Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, and Phoenix Houses of Texas. These three well-known service organizations have been piloting an integrated program of their services at a Dallas school, creating after-school programming that serves the whole child cost-effectively with best-in-class services from each organization.
PYA programs are designed to improve children’s academic performance, character and leadership development, and overall health – all at lower cost per child. Other benefits will accrue to the children when additional organizations join PYA. The programs are measured and assessed by the University of Texas at Dallas’s Institute for Urban Policy Research.
The Cedar Hill Rotary Club
